Maria Tarazona, the founder, of Maria Valco Corporation, first encountered the beauty of Majorca pearls during her 1972 honeymoon on the sun-drenched Island of Majorca in the Mediterranean Sea. Though brief, the introduction left a lasting impression. In 1981, Maria and her family moved from Spain to the United States, where she focused on raising her children and mastering English.
As her family grew, Maria sought a new passion. She explored gold jewelry design and construction through courses, creating original pieces she enjoyed—but it wasn’t her calling. Her search ended in 1998 when her brother introduced her to a representative from Madreperla Elements, one of Majorca’s premier pearl manufacturers in Manacor. Memories of those island pearls reignited, and Maria knew this was it: to introduce exquisite, sustainable Majorca pearls to the United States!
On August 28, 2000, Maria officially founded Maria Valco Corporation in Florida, launching majorcapearls.com to share these gems.
